Blog 16 Pandora and or last.fm what do you like.

To be honest i didn't think any thing like this was on the Internet, then again we are talking about the Internet. the Internet has every thing so how can i be surprise about this. it's Oct. 12, 2009 ( not really), our Descriptive essay is due today. Its a good thing i finished it. I'm so proud of my self another paper that i had to do and i finished it on time. It wont be the greatest paper but its good.
Any way about Pandora.com and Last.fm, hm which one do i like. The first one we learned about was pandora. it lets you set up a play list and just by picking one songs it gives you other artist who are some what the same as the artist you picked. which is great because now i can listen to other artist and see if i like them. the only problem with this web site is that they only give you 40 hours of listening for free every month but after you have used all 40 hours after that you are to pay 0.99 cents for the rest of your listening time. and if you wanted to you can pay i believe $37 a year to listen without having to pay the 0.99 cents each time you were over. i did like this web site more then last.fm but after reading that it was just not for me.Well these two web sites are very cool. If i want to listen to a song all i have to do is either go to one of these web sites. so they both play music. Both you can buy the songs and put them in your ipod.
for last. fm this website actually lets you listen to the song you want to here. not like pandora, it gives you what eversong they have for that artist. which i think its great to listen to the one song i have stuck in my head.

Blog 15

its Oct. 9, 2009 (not really), so i didn't go to class today due to it being my birthday the next day. I know that's no excuse to miss class. Every day in class is very educational. but hey i needed the sleep. I mean i know other people are doing the same thing but having to be a full time mom, full time dad, full time worker, and full time student is very hard. Yes the father of my handsome little boy is around but not as much as i would like him to be. And I'm getting second thoughts on weather er or not it was a good idea to come back to school. I mean i cant just quit my job just to give more time to school, but i also cant live my life being at that job forever. so I'm still not sure if ill be coming back next semester.
about my descriptive paper i think i did good. i think i got the main points about the vlog i was doing.like i said that couver87 went to see the president how exciting. i would like to go see the president but i bet i would be very lazy to get out of the house to see him. unless i paid so much money to see him then that is a different story. I'm very surprise that i got a 38 on my last paper. i actually thought i would get a lower on well if it was grade as 100 being the highest then i pretty sure it was a 70. so I'm hoping this paper is at least better than a 38. but knowing me I'm having my hopes real high that the grade will actually be lower. i should have had my friend or sister read it first before turning it in. then again they wouldn't know what I'm talking about in till they saw the vlog that couver87 made. Ive been meaning to see his other videos, just to see how he changes in each video. to see if he has anything the same from the way he looks to the bed room scenery.

Blog 14: How did you feel about commenting on other ppls blog.

Today is Oct 5, 2009 (it really isnt) and we are to write 100 words on each others blogs. it doesnt matter to whom and then we are to write about this experience.And Well no one left me a comment. I'm guessing its because i talk about nothing. Or its because i make no since. But thats okay. i really wouldnt want anyone to leave me anything unless it is a good comment. I didnt like leaving one either, it just felt werid. I dont know any of my class mates well enuff to actually say anything with out me feeling like an idoit. I bet every one else felt this way as well. well at least i think so. reading on some one else blog made me see that i could have used that or why didnt i think of that. just seeing how i rushed through my blogs and how my classmates took their time doing it and had so much to say. i just read some and i just start to think compare theirs to mine i feel really dumb right now. even at this very moment i feel as if this blog isnt making any sense. but i just have to keep working hard to get the job done.

Blog 13:Describe what you did today?

It is Oct 2, 2009 ( not really), and my group all made it on time to class. which was very awesome to hear. we were to get in groups of two to discusses our essay and do a time line for it. this being our descriptive essay. my partner was Pauline our team leader. very helpful and wonderful person if i might add. at first i was at a blank doing this assignment. i had no idea what we were doing. i didn't know the reason we went to the writing center was to pick the vlog we would be writing about. i felt so dumb but i couldn't let my team leader down so i had to remember the last vlog i saw. and that's how i knew that's the one i had to stick to since it was the one i could remember. besides the one with some krazy little boy and probably his dad helping him record the vlog he made. it was so weird. i didn't get that one at all. doing the time line i some what under stood what ms. Crawford was saying. our essay had to have feeling to it. not like a dumb old essay. but one that you had to describe in full detail of what the host is doing in the vlog. And whats in the back around. we had to make the audience feel as if they were there with him or at least watching the vlog for them selves. Ive never done an essay that we had to watch something and then write about it. well no now I'm lying, for theatre i had to go see leading ladies by ken Ludwig. And i have to write a critic about the production.
the time line was also something new for me to use in order to get the video in every scene. this is a new way to fo an essay well at least for a descriptive essay. im not to sure if i would be doing the time line in the furture but you never know. one day will come and i would have to do another descriptive essay which i dont dout about that. the time line would come in handing for that kind of essay.

Blog12 : write a brief description of the vlog

It is Sept 30, 2009, I'm in my English class waiting for it to begin. I'm taking a nap while I wait. Not a Morning person anymore. Since I don't get out of work in till eleven at night. Class begins, we are now asked to go to the writing center to go on YouTube and look for vlogs. I'm thinking what the hell is a vlog. Then I started watching different vlogs. Each one that i saw i was not too sure what or why we were doing this. I just thought maybe we have to write a blog about it. So I'm just watching any vlog not thinking anything about it. One vlog did get my attention, only because he got to see the president at Arizona state. And of course he was handsome sorry to my boyfriend for saying that. Well this guy never says his name but no one does. I mean I wouldn't either. Well wait if you go to my myspace, facebook, and here i just come right out and put my name on here. His user name is couver87, hes in his room and its may 14, 2009. Hes out of school and has an internship. He doesn't say where. What was really awesome though that he went to see the president on May 13, 2009. I mean who gets the chance like that. Not many i would say.It took him 3 hours just to get though security. He said it was like he was in the airport. Then another two hours to get to his sits. then yet another two hours for the president to come out. and the fact that it was 100 degrees in the stadium. well they are in Arizona when this happen.there was about 7500 people there just to see the president. how great was that to see the president live. Then after that he got boring. He just started talking about movies he really enjoyed watching. Which was Earth and XMen Wolverine. I have never seen the movie Earth but it was a good movie to go see. It was the way of life in the animal kingdom. But I mean all I have to do is change the channel to see animal planet, right. But the XMen movie I had to go see it again the same week i saw this vlog. Well the first time I saw XMen it was poor quality. Oh did I tell you this is his first vlog, but he has many other videos. Other than that that was my vlog which I have to give more feel to it. Bye

blog 11:Relecting on todays you tube video.

i have to say i may sound a little dumb on this blog but its okay because we have our moments of being a little not understanding. its sept. 28, 2009 wow thats a long time ago and im barely wrinting this blog. shame on Iris for letting her team down. we were going to watch a youtube video by Mike wesch in class but there was no audio. so now we were to watch it on our own time. great i dont have anuff time to do hoework and now i have to watch something. i knew i couldnt watch it at work. i would get in trouble to do so. and i dont want that to get written up for it. plus i still wouldnt be able to watch it, the computers at work arent what we say so great. it makes a loud noise while trying to get on the Internet.i tryed to watch it but it was too long. so i told my self ill watch it with my boyfriend. i went over to his house if we can watch it. which we started to, i didnt actaully believe he would sit there with me and watch it. we were watching it for about 30min. and he could tell already know that i was bored. i told him he can leave if he liked he told me no that this video was very interesting, he likes this kind of stuff. i told him really, all he said was you dont understand what there saying do you. i told him nope, i just had that song in my head. i told him well why dont you finish watching it tell me what its about and ill be done. he just said i dont think so this is your school work not mine. he then logged off and we went to his room to sleep before i had to go back to sac to go to my sociology class. so i never got around to finish watching that video.

difference between the fake email and the email etiquette.

So what is the difference between the two emails we did. I am not to sure. They both had to be long. And we had to talk about a bad grade in class. So you tell me whats the difference.
We had two assignments to do in our English class. First one was the fake email to a friend, second was the email etiquette to the teacher. They both had to do with having a bad grade.
The fake email we all had to write on our blogs were to a friend. Which i wrote mine to my baby daddy. I value his opinion higher than any one else's. Which is weird i know. Any who, in the fake email I can act who i am. To be my self. Not to worry how i sound. Of course I do want to make sense and have my spelling right. But it does not have to sound right at all times. The language is also not important. You can say words you would not normally say to a teacher. No one would care.
The other assignment is email etiquette. Which we had to type up on paper. When in the email etiquette i have to sound mature because your writing to a instructor. Make sure my spelling and punctuation is correct. Which we all know i do not pay attention to any of that. And in this you cant just talk like you are friends. You have to get to the point and make sure its understandable. Instructor don't want to get bother by nonsense unless there a really cool teacher who wouldn't mind a chat. But otherwise no. It was hard to do this one. I mean I would feel embarrass if i was actually writing to my instructed to change my grade. I don't think i would do such a thing. So trying to come up with this assignments was new thing for me.

refecting on your workshop experience.

In my English class we were to read our essay out loud in our groups.I am in team 3 but I was to work with Team 4 for this. At the time not all of their team members were there. Listening to what there email etiquette was about made me realize that I am a very rude person. Theirs seem so nice and not like mine. I did not really know how to do this. I was outside my comfort zone. Being in a different group than my own that is. They are very nice people. In the group they really did not tell me any thing. Just that i could not use certain words and the first sentence i had was a big no no. I mean i did not want to critics any one and did not want them to do that to me either. I knew mine was not great. Listening to theirs made me see some ideas that maybe i could use.
At first mine was to emotional and very demanding. But when i went to the writing center one of the girls there made me change my whole story. And I went with it. It was more mature and in this one i was not rude. I am so glad, I hope I do not sound rude. But I might have been a little emotional again. I could not remember what we talked about. I have such a bad memory for every thing. And i could really just sum every thing i wanted in one paragraph. Which i knew that would lead me to a failing grade. After all of this I still dont think i would want any one to critice me for any thing. Or would want to read my essays out loud. Because i know i dont make any sense at all.

articles about online dating.

To be honest, I was thinking about doing that to find some one special. But was to afraid to find some one who... you know. Having a son makes me be very cautions. I cant just let anyone get in my life. So online dating is just to scary. But even then meeting people at a club is even more freighting.
In the articles we read were about the discrimination of not being able to select the same sex on some online dating websites.The reason eHarmony doesn't have the option for same sex is that this country its illegal for same sex marriages. And they do try to match people up for marriage. But there are many web sites that the gays and lesbian can go to. So there is actually no reason for any one to say its discriminating. But they do got a point, we all should be able to have one web site that every one can use. No matter if were gay, straight, lesbian, or even bisexual. Were all humans but we were just made different.
The dating detectives is the next article we talked about. Man, I know my boyfriend would love to use this on me. But he wont find any thing. Im not that kind of person. This article is some what like Cheaters the tv show. This genatlemen was on an online site where he would chat with people. He then starting chating with some one he found interesting. Soon anuff they starting seeing each other. They were prefect, but he thought it was just to good to be true. So he hired some one to follow her. Sure a nuff she was seen with another guy at a hotel. Then he dumped her. The detective business in India is growing in each year. Which we know its a good idea. Who wouldnt want to know if the person you met online is the person they say they are. Even if you have gone on dates with( thats if they live in the same city as you).
The two articles are about online dating. With different situations, that happen. We all one day might want to try this if havent found that one special some one. Or who has lost some one and just needed to find some one who can fill that gap. Just be honest and be yourself.

Discussion on Email Etiquette.

Well what we had discussed in class was our essay assignment. I think this assignment will be some what hard. Well what i mean it's going to be hard by trying to avoid you and your. I'm pretty sure I use those two words a lot. I'm really not liking that we have to go to the writing center. I feel that they might laugh or think that m y paper is stupid. Even if Mrs.Crawford said she will get after them. But I will probably using the writing center soon. Since I do have a writing assignment for theatre due at the end of the month. And I still don't know how to start it off. I haven't even read what I'm suppose to be writing about. I just got the script three days ago.
It was very interesting learning about cc and bcc. I never knew what they meant when I first got my email. I would always think that I had to put the same email of who I was sending some thing to on those. So I guess I would send that person three emails of the same thing. How embarrassing. After a while I ignored those. But since I know now what they mean then for sure I'm going to ignore them.
I am happy that that it will be double space. It will make my paper very long. And it will make me feel that I wrote a lot. Even if in truth I didn't.
And of course there should be at least three or more paragraphs in an essay. Which should also be six or more sentences in each. I know some of my paragraphs are of four or less sentences. But that's not going to stop me from trying to write more.
What I would like to know is in this email do we use Mrs.Crawford or can we make up an instructor. I would really like to make some one up. But if I cant oh well. I think it will be easier for me to actually know this instructor is fictional.
I just hope i do this essay very well. And of course get a decent grade for it.

two articles

i think it would be a good thing if 3rd through 4th grade would use Internet in the class room. Not only does it get them ready but it ll be a lot easier for them to type everything. we wouldn't be losing a lot of trees this way either. even though i also think writing on paper for your draft are better than typing and then retyping. it works both way i guess. in the article for AL gore he states that the education department saw that 30% of the student who used the Internet for there studies did much better the other students who didn't use it at all.over all the students who used Internet was doing better at school. having more detail projects, and just getting better grades. how you say being more creative.hes trying to get all schools to have computer for students to use. preparing the students how to use these kind of technology at school is his main point. with every job out there using computers is required. so with learning how to use the Internet at a such a young age will help every one in finding jobs with out a problem.
in the next article( new ipod rules touch off heated debate) its discussion whether its a good thing or bad thing to have i phones and ipod touch to be used at school for assignments.many schools are already using this technology. which the students find its very cool to be given the ipod touch or i phone. even if for the iphone you do have to sign contract with at&t in order to use this device. all the freshmen are required to at least have this device with them. many already do. some of the professors wanted to rule this out. they didn't like that they would have to change the way they teach just because they now have to use it. the students don't even have to show up to class they can just download the lectures on the devices. which would make class to seem a little easier. for me that would be a great idea to have but also a bad one. if my son is sick of course i would miss school just to take him to the doctor. and if i had the ipod touch and all i had to do was download i wouldn't miss anything. but that would also would make me want to miss class for no reason at all. so it goes both ways here.

Two Articles Tech Helps Students Adopt Good Study Habits and Reading, Writing,iPhoning.

The article of Tech Helps Students.. is about a university called Purdue. There using technology for signals in there grades. It took three semester before its 2009 launch. The way the students can see this signals by logging in to their blackboard course management accounts. There they can see what signals their teachers send them. There are three signals; which are red, yellow, and green. Just like the traffic light, so its very easy to understand what they mean. If a student gets the red light signal it means you are failing; I will have a session for students who need help. The yellow light signal is that the students in between of passing but almost failing. If green light signal is what they get then they are doing very well and get compliments from the teachers. This program doesn't let the students know in the middle of the semester but in the first 2 weeks. Students are very happy with this program. Its helping the students know that they need to work hard; knowing if there doing bad or good.
In the article for Reading, Writing, iPhoning its about Abilene Christian University. At that university they are giving t-shirts, orientation packets and either an iPhone or an iPod touch. But their not the only schools doing this. There using these devices to to pep up the class discussions. The students who pick the iPhone over the iPod will have to pay for AT&T monthly service bill. The students who leave the school early will have to pay a pro-rated amount for the devices. Some teachers are thinking that by getting these devices they might be able to hold some class session this way. The students will be able to check their syllabi and receive emergency alerts.But of course there are some resitctions on the devices. And of course the students are happy about getting these devices.
So as you can see both of the university are either using a program or getting devices for school. In every school students will use technology. But in these schools they have special things for students who go to those university.

Reflecting on todays discussion, your group and upcoming assignments.

Having a group presentation will be intersting.But isnt it to soon, we just started school last week.Well this is college and not high school.And since I've been out of high school for 3 years I'm not sure if my writng skills are any good.But I hope we do well on wednesday. My group is very strong, we all have what it takes to do very well. Six is alot for a group to have, but having that many is also a good thing. We all have are different ideas that can help one another. But we might also have some disagreements. It will also make as learn more about each other. I know in our syllabus it says we discuss about email etiquette but for some reason I dont remember this. That is our first assignment for the class. Well its not actaully the first one since we do have blogs to do and the presention that group 3 and 4 have to do soon. Im guessing the email etiquette is for us to learn how to properly make an email. Its the social behavior of one self. Or so I think since in my sociology class we watched the Men's Restroom Etiquette on You Tube. It was very interesting and very funny as well. It was about how guys should use the restroom. So I some what think how were suppose to do that assignment.Looking more and more on the syllabus it seems we have planty of wrinting assignments. Which you should know this is an english course. These writing assignments look a little hard for me. So were going to see a video clip on You Tube. That should be interesting. Some of these assignments I wont have to do alone since I have a group. There all mostly group assignments. Which makes me very happy. Its a group effort and we should all help each other.

How's it going? How is school going for you?As for me I'm very upset.I really thought today was going to be a wonderful day.But today was not a good day at all.So you know that assignment I worked so hard on.Well I really thought it was perfect. And you thought it was good.As I was in class thinking I was going to get a good grade on my paper.Ms.Course hands me my paper back with a bad grade that I had to look twice.Can you believe her?I worked my ass off on that assignment.Just look on what kind of grade I got.After class I spoke to Ms.Course and explain to her that she made a mistake and should look it over again.She of course just smiled and said,"I knew you would ask me that.The grade I gave you is correct.You just have to work a little harder,Iris."This is bullshit,right?For me to work so hard on this shit.I gave that assignment a 100% of my time or even more,just to make it better.I should have thrown the paper in her face.But I know that will get me in trouble.I don't know what to do.That grade was suppose to bring my grade point average up in this stupid class.But instead it brought it down by 2 points.I was doing so well in that class.I think she's just out to get me.You remember Drew, right?Well she gave him a better grade than me.So now he's laughing it up and throwing it in my face.I wish I could punch him in in the face.That would make things worse.So I guess that's not a good idea.I just have to work harder like Ms.Course said.Then on my next assignment I'll get a worth wild grade.I'm sorry I went on and on.I was just so upset that I had to tell some one.I feel so much better now.Thanks for taking my torture of reading this.Talk to you later, bye.

WHAT IS MY WRITING PROCESS?

Having to come back to school was tough.The moment I remember I so much hate writing, reading,and doing other stuff that I'm not good at made me not want to come back.Its been a while since I had to actually do work at home.I may want the work done, but I do it at my own pace.I like having some nosie around me while im doing homework. Music is always good for me.If my niece is around then I really have to go some where else. It's really hard for me to do my work.I have a three year boy who wants my attention twenty four seven.I have to put the television on in order for him to sit still.But you know little toddlers they will sit for awhile then he gets up and wants me to play.Then all of a sudden I begin to watch the television.And push him off to the side and say, "Ville go sit down im trying to do my work."When really all I want to do is watch television.If I'm at work then its a whole differnet story.If were not busy at the front desk then I can either read or write my paper for class which I did for one class.It's hard to do it there too.If the phone starts ringing or a guest is trying to check in I have to stop and help them out.Or even my manager ask me to do something for her.I have to put it off for a while.And if I dont get to do anything I have to wait till its eleven a clock to go home and do it there.To me doing work that late and having to wake up early to drop off my son at day care, then be at school before eight is cutting to my sleep.But if I want to become a teacher then this is what I have to do, right.I do get my job done of course.No matter what happens while Im trying to do my work, I'll always have it done before morning.No job will be left undone.

HOW YOU USE TECH IN YOUR WORLD?

EVERY BODY IN THE WORLD USES TECHNOLOGLY EVERY SINGAL DAY. IT DOESNT MATTER IF YOUR AT WORK, AT SCHOOL, OR AT HOME. LIFE WOULD BE WEIRD WITH OUT IT. EVEN IF THE OLD DAYS THEY REALLY DIDNT HAVE WHAT WE HAVE TODAY. AND THEY DIDNT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT. BUT NOW EVERY BODY RELIES ON EVERY THING. TO COMPUTERS, CELL PHONES, CARS, AND ETC. YOU CAN JUST TURN AROUND AND YOU WILL SEE THAT EVERY ONE IS EITHER DRIVING, TALKING ON THE PHONE, OR LISTENING TO THERE IPOD. ITS THE MOST WONDERFUL THING THAT WAS CREATED FOR US. LIKE FOR ME AS AN EXAMPLE I CAN NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE WITH OUT MY CELL PHONE. IF ANY THING WERE TO HAPPEN TO MY SON AT DAY CARE, HOW WOULD ANY ONE BE ABLE TO CONTACT ME. UNLESS OF COURSE I WAS AT WORK. SO YOU SEE TECHNOLOGY IS ALL AROUND US. AND ITLL NEVER GO AWAY FROM THE WORLD.
